Introduction
Optimity is a mobile app designed to encourage healthy habits by tracking steps and offering quizzes. Users can earn “gems” by meeting daily step goals or answering quizzes correctly. However, instead of directly redeeming rewards, users must bid on gift cards, which can be frustrating. The app primarily functions using a phone’s built-in step tracker, making it less advanced than fitness watches. While it offers some incentives for staying active, its limited reward system and occasional bugs leave room for improvement.
What is Optimity?
Optimity is an app designed to track health metrics and provide incentives for healthy activities like walking. And yes, it’s legit because you can potentially earn rewards from it.
How to make money by Steps and Quizzes from Optimity
Optimity categorizes its earning opportunities as steps and quizzes. To earn rewards, you’ll need to answer quizzes in the app or reach the required daily step maximum. For the latter, you’ll need to set your daily step goal, which you can adjust to your liking.
When you answer the quiz, you’ll receive gems if you pass the quiz. It’s a relatively simple process where you’ll need to answer questions correctly to earn rewards.
For your daily step goal, the app will be able to track how many steps you take as long as you keep your mobile phone with you while you walk. It’s not as advanced as some pedometer apps, where you can connect your fitness watch to the app and it will count the steps you take.
It simply tracks your steps using your phone’s built-in sensor. This is a bit inconvenient, especially if you’re out running because you have to bring your phone with you to count the steps.
In my opinion, this is not an ideal app for counting your steps. If your goal is to accurately measure the steps you take and even the distance you walk, there are better options.
Now, if the app sees that you’ve managed to reach your daily step goal, it will reward you with a certain number of gems.
When testing the app, I had the impression that it wasn’t as comprehensive and sophisticated as it looks on its website. There’s definitely a lot of room for improvement, and I don’t consider it the most rewarding app for reaching your fitness and health goals.
How do you get paid from Optimity?
The earning opportunities that Optimity offers will allow you to earn gems. Now, the question is, what can you do with the gems you’ve earned? Well, this is where things get a little complicated.
Typically, in the case of other walk-and-earn apps, you’ll use the rewards you’ve earned to redeem various gift cards, or you can convert them into cash via PayPal. But in the case of Optimity, you can only bid for gift cards from its rewards section with the gems you’ve earned.
In my opinion, this system is a bit frustrating, because you don’t know exactly what the value of the gems you’ve earned is, and you can’t maximize the value of your gems. It also doesn’t help that there are a limited number of gift cards you can bid for each month.
How to join Optimity?
The site or app doesn’t tell you which countries it’s available in, but from what I can see, it’s only available in Canada. So, if you’re somewhere else, this isn’t for you.
The registration process is relatively easy. You just sign up using your email address. However, I warn you that the app can be a bit buggy at times, so you may have trouble registering.
If you really want to use the app, you’ll need to be patient.
