Introduction
GeoSmile is a mobile app that rewards users for staying active by walking, traveling, completing surveys, and participating in other activities. It offers a passive way to earn through daily movement, but users must accumulate a significant number of miles to redeem rewards. While it provides multiple earning opportunities, frequent ads and high redemption requirements may affect the overall user experience.
What is GeoSmile?
GeoSmile is a mobile app that rewards you for moving. And yes, it seems like a legitimate app because basically you will be rewarded for moving around. However, this does not automatically make GeoSmile usable.
1. Make money by moving around from GeoSmile
You can earn rewards by moving around. All you have to do is bring your mobile device with you whenever you go out. Once the app is installed, it will be able to count the steps you take or the distance you travel.
For the steps you take each day, you will earn 1 mile (the currency the app is using) for every 1,000 steps you take. However, you can earn a maximum of 10 miles per day. Now, if you travel by train, car or bicycle, you will also earn miles.
For every 10 kilometers traveled by train, car or bicycle, you can fill up the tank of GeoSmile. Once the tank is full, it can be claimed for miles. When claiming miles from the tank, the app will ask you to watch a video ad so that you can increase the miles you receive.
This is not mandatory, but it is a way to earn more miles. And believe me, you will need all the miles you can get and you will understand why later.
What GeoSmile offers is basically a passive way to earn because you can just let it run in the background and walk around to earn. You don’t have to do anything special except claim the rewards. Unfortunately, you will be bombarded with a lot of ads while using the app.
2. Make money by GeoSmile Paid Surveys
You can earn more rewards from the surveys it offers. From time to time, you will be asked to answer a short survey. If you are able to complete the survey, you will earn a certain number of miles.
However, to do this, you will first have to go through the qualification process. If you have been a member of the survey site before, the process will be almost the same.
There are not many surveys available, so it is not something that you can earn regularly.
3. Make money by GeoSmile Slot Machine Game
You can play its slot machine game to earn extra rewards. To do this, you need to spend a coin, which can be earned from wandering around or completing surveys.
This is a very easy way to potentially win prizes, but it is a game of chance, so it is not something you can reliably earn money from. Apart from that, you will have to face a lot of ads while playing the game.
4. Make money by GeoSmile Referral Program
Finally, you can earn rewards from its referral program. The app’s website is not entirely clear about how the referral program works, and to be honest, I did not try to dig deeper into how it works and later, you will understand why.
But from what I have been able to gather, you will earn extra rewards by inviting people to join GeoSmile. To do this, you will need to share your invitation code. When they sign up as a member of the app and input your code, they will become your referral.
However, based on my experience, your referral has to meet a certain requirement before they can receive referral rewards. While it may seem like an easy way to earn, GeoSmile is not really something I would recommend to my friends, and later, you will find out why.
How do you get paid from GeoSmile?
All the earning opportunities that GeoSmile offers will reward you with miles. Now, you might be thinking that these miles can be used for travel, like an airline loyalty program. However, you will be disappointed because you can only redeem rewards with the miles you have earned.
The rewards you can redeem will depend on which country you live in, but most of the time, the options will be gift cards for Amazon, Starbucks, Apple Pay, and more. In the image above, you can see the PayPal logo, but when I tested the app, PayPal was not available.
GeoSmile’s payment system is powered by XOXODay, an enterprise-grade loyalty, rewards, and incentives solution.
The threshold you need to reach to redeem rewards is 50,000 miles to redeem a $5 gift card. The threshold is quite low but the number of miles required seems to be quite high, which in my opinion makes the low payment threshold irrelevant.
How to join GeoSmile?
To sign up, you first need to install the app. Then, when you open the app for the first time, you just need to complete the sign-up process, which should take less than a minute. Once signed up, you can log in to the app and start earning.
