HCD Surveys is an online survey platform that pays users for sharing their opinions. Operated by Holistic Communications Decisions, the site specializes in marketing and communication research. While it has been around for over 12 years, its outdated interface and limited payment options may not appeal to everyone. HCD Surveys primarily rewards users through a points-based system for completing surveys, with earnings redeemable via check.
What is HCD Surveys?
The aforementioned HCD Surveys is a survey site that will pay you cash for answering surveys they provide.
It has been around for over 12 years. HCD stands for Holistic Communications Decisions. Their company deals with marketing and communication research.
To be honest, their website hasn’t been updated since it was first launched and looks quite old.
Make money by Paid Surveys from HCD Surveys
The main way to earn money from HCD Surveys is through paid surveys. After all, they are a survey site.
After completing the registration process, you will be able to log in to their member dashboard.
You can find all the available surveys shown on the dashboard.
However, before you can take any surveys, you will need to complete your profile.
As shown in the image above, your profile will have 3 sections, Demographics, Personal Profile, and Interests.
Clicking on a section will redirect you to a page with several questions.
You need to answer these questions honestly because this will be the basis for HCD Surveys to send you surveys that you are eligible for.
Filling out this profile can be a bit tedious because HCD doesn’t pay you for it like other sites. But if you want to access the surveys, you will need to fill out your profile.
HCD Surveys use a points system. For each survey you complete, you will be awarded a certain number of points. You can exchange those points for a certain amount when you decide to pay cash.
Keep in mind that if you don’t complete the survey, you won’t get the reward.
Usually, survey sites have a screener system where you have to answer a few questions to verify if you are really eligible for the survey.
After answering the screener questions, they will tell you if you are eligible for the survey. If you do, you can proceed with answering the survey.
If you don’t qualify when participating in a survey on HCD Surveys, they will still reward you with 10 points, which will be credited to your account.
Also, after taking the screening questions, they will let you know if the survey has reached the answer quota. If it has already, they will reward you with 10 points, which will be credited to your account immediately.
This is not a big reward, but it is still good that they give you at least a small reward in this case, because it can be quite disappointing if you don’t qualify.
However, overall, HCD Surveys is not a survey site that will offer a huge number of surveys.
Make money by HCD Surveys Referral Program
HCD Surveys also runs a referral program where you can get paid for inviting others to join.
But, the problem is, I can’t find any information on their website about what you get for referring a friend to their website.
If you click on the “Refer a Friend” link on the dashboard, you will simply be redirected to a page where your referral link will be displayed.
In my opinion, their referral program is a bit complicated. Take PrizeRebel for example. They tell you what you will get for referring a friend and are very transparent about it.
So, as a member, you will naturally be more motivated to refer a friend because you will get something out of it.
You could argue that referring a friend to HCD Surveys would earn you something because they have made the referral program available to members.
But in my opinion, it would have been better if they had made the information about what you will get for referring a friend easily available.
How do you get paid from HCD Surveys?
HCD Surveys has a pretty simple rewards system.
As shown in the image above, there is only one way for you to get paid.
You can request payment once you reach the minimum required number of points, which in this case is 1,000 points, which is worth $10.
You will be paid by check via postal mail, which means it will take 6 to 8 weeks for you to receive it.
This is a much longer wait than other survey sites. In my opinion, this method of payment is a bit outdated these days, as there are already many convenient payment methods like PayPal.
Also, this type of payment method can be used. One example of this is the warning on their home page. Apparently, some third-party entities are mailing fake checks that offer survey participation, secret shopper, mystery shopper, or investigative shopper opportunities.
This requires you to submit personal information in order to win cash prizes. That’s all they’re looking for.
This could have been avoided if they had chosen a different payment method for their members.
A check can be a great method for receiving payment, but there are sites that offer checks as payment that are easier to use and have better options, in my opinion.
And it would also be nice to have the option to at least pay electronically on most modern survey sites.
How to join HCD Surveys?
During the registration process, it is clearly shown that HCD Surveys is only available in the United States.
As you can see from the image above, there is no option to change the country. So, this means that membership is limited to residents of the United States only.
And according to their terms of service, you must be at least 18 years old to sign up as a member. Also, only one member is allowed per household, which is the norm for most survey sites.
There is no information on the website about how many times you have to be active on their site before they consider your account inactive.
So, I assume that you don’t have to be active for a certain period of time for your membership status to not be marked as inactive.
Overall, there are so many great survey sites in the United States, so in my opinion, it’s hard to justify it when there are so many great options.
