Make Money By Usability Testing From User Advocate
Once you become a User Advocate tester, you will receive an email if you can test something, so be sure to check your email regularly for earning opportunities.
To test, you must install the UserAdvocate app (more on this later). Once it’s installed, just log in and follow the instructions in the email you received.
Most tests require you to evaluate a website or app. You may be asked to record your screen when testing the app or site. The app already has a built-in feature for this, so you don’t need to install any third party apps.
You’ll also be asked to speak your mind during the exam, so if you’re not comfortable doing that, it’s not for you.
And since you have to speak during the test, you must take the test in a quiet room to make sure your voice is heard clearly. One of the main reasons UserAdvocate rejects test submissions is because the tester’s voice cannot be heard clearly due to excessive background noise.
For testing, most of the time, you will be asked to perform simple tasks while testing websites or apps, so you don’t need to have technical knowledge to perform the tests. After completing the test, please upload your recording. User Advocate recommends that you upload it using your Wi-Fi as mobile connections may incur high charges. Once your work is uploaded, just wait for the confirmation from UserAdvocate.

Test availability will depend on your location. Based on my experience, people living in the US, UK or Canada usually have the most opportunities. If you live in a small country, you will rarely get an invitation to participate in an exam.
How Do You Get Paid From User Advocate?
For each test you do, you will earn a certain amount and it depends on the complexity of the tasks you do. On average, you’ll earn about $10 for tests where you have to record your screen and speak your thoughts.
As for how you get paid, you have the option to pay via PayPal or direct bank transfer. Their payout system is relatively straightforward, and you don’t need to hit a threshold to get your earnings.
How To Join The UserAdvocate?
The site doesn’t tell you exactly which countries it’s available in, but as far as I can tell, it’s more or less available worldwide, so you’ll be able to sign up as a member no matter where you live. But as mentioned, there will be some countries that offer more opportunities to earn.
There’s nothing you can do about it because that’s how usability testing platforms work. If clients require examiners to reside in a particular country, they must oblige.
